The Ros Tapestry is an exhibition of fifteen large embroidered panels tells the story of the Norman arrival in South-East Ireland. The Ros Tapestries depict centuries of ancient traditions, political intrigue, romance, war, invasion and invention. The tapestries also tell another story, that of the enduring dedication and skill of the 150 volunteers who, with endless patience and care for more than fifteen years, stitch by stitch, illustrated this story of medieval Ireland. The Ros Tapestries truly are an epic tale, told in thread.
We were privileged to help to tell the remarkable story of the Ros Tapestry in 2016, when Abarta Heritage were awarded the contract to produce audio guides in a number of different languages, along with a very user-friendly audio hardware system. The project was funded through the Ireland’s Ancient East Capital Grants Scheme by Fáilte Ireland.
Discover the Ros Tapestry for yourself and take a journey to medieval Ireland through the eyes of a community.
