Since we founded Abarta Heritage in 2012, our mission has been to help people to appreciate Ireland’s incredible heritage. As part of our work, we create immersive audio guides and audiobooks. We also work with institutions, County Councils and tourism bodies, offering the highest quality heritage services, community development and training programmes that focus on connecting sites, people and stories. Irish people are renowned as the best storytellers in the world, we specialise in bringing these stories to life in a variety of different ways.

Our core services and products include digital audio guides and a range of heritage interpretation services which bring the story of Ireland’s heritage sites, towns and places to life. We have worked with a large number of County Councils, development companies, community groups, state bodies and within the private sector across the island of Ireland. As well as providing digital audio content and hardware, we are also experienced and qualified trainers who help community groups and organisations promote and interpret their localities with our bespoke tour guide training.

As well as our heritage interpretation services, we also specialise in enabling communities to protect, preserve and promote their local heritage. We have the privilege to manage the Adopt a Monument Scheme on behalf of the Heritage Council, where we work closely with communities to mentor, support and facilitate them to achieve their ambitions and to ensure their local monuments will be safe for future generations. We also focus on creating sustainable tourism through our audits, assessments and conservation management plans.
